It's gorgeous outside... 71 now and it's supposed to hit 82 again today... the perfect 3-day President's Day weekend weather.
Except for some touch-up trim painting, which is happening as I type, the outside is complete. We love the look -- it turned out exactly as we envisioned. However, it took 5 stabs at a matching window trim colour to complement the stucco. We ended up back the the first one that Janine picked -- Sherwin Williams Heron Plume. Hmmmmmmmm?!
It's been awhile since the last post because it was all happening inside. The metal roof was completed yesterday and the stucco and paint trim completed also. The roof is from Mueller and is AP panel. It has extra thickness to resist hail damage and is a lot better than shingles as far as off-loading heat at night. Therefore, your attic stays cooler. It also gets us a 25% discount on our yearly homeowner's policy -- yippie!
Window trim paint to follow soon. HVAC is going in and the structured wiring for audio/video is proceeding, with cat-6 cable everywhere for streaming HD media well as gigabit network capability. We spent a LOT of time with HVAC as we want efficiency and humidity removal to be paramount in this home. Thus, Carrier Infinity furnace (with a variable-speed air handler), Performance 13 SEER A/C, with Infinity controls.
Pics to come this weekend -- we can hardly wait till June! ;-)
A semi-daily dose of miscellaneous treats that started out detailing the construction of Janine's and my new ICF home. It's now a series of disparate ramblings as they occur.
